Moses Perkins b.1786 Rockingham, Windham Co., VT d.1858 Rutland Co., VT.
Son of (Rufus & Susannah
(Dutton) Perkins). His wife HULDAH
(WILLIAMS). They were listed on the 1810 Census at
Shrewsbury, Rutland Co., VT and in 1820 at Clarendon, Rutland Co., VT.
In 1834 he sold his land in Shrewsbury, Rutland Co., VT to Philany
Lewis, wife of Isaac Lewis a tract of land that was west of his brother
Amasa
Perkins. This is the same lot of land he purchased from Thomas
Knight in 1833. Their

Lucy (West) Perkins). His wife
UNKNOWN. They are listed on the 1810 Census at Kirby, Caledonia
Co., VT. According to the deeds (below), he only lived at Kirby, VT a short 4
years. Where he went after that is unknown.
In 1820, Their known children were:

I find a land sale deed dated
8.22.1809 recorded in the Grafton Co, NH Land Records 1818-1820
Book between Charles W. Perkins of Kirby, Caledonia Co., VT selling land
located at Enfield, Grafton Co., NH to
Rufus Perkins (son of James Perkins Jr.) of Bridgewater, Plymouth Co., MA.
Rufus Perkins is the nephew of
Barnabus Perkins. He is selling the land that is
"butting & bounded" beginning at a white Maple Sladdle standing at the
southwest corner of a piece of land sold by Michael Annis to
Barnabus Perkins, then
North 31(degrees) East, 48 rods to a state and stones standing in the
Southerly line of said Perkins fifty acres lot - The witnesses were
Barnabus Perkins & Elias Cheney Jr. Charles W. Perkins appeared before
the Justice of the Peace in Caledonia Co., VT to sign the deed.
I find land purchase deed dated 10.1.1813 recorded in the
Kirby, VT Land Records 1810-1846 Book. Azarias Williams of Concord,
Essex Co., VT is selling his land for $300.00 located at Kirby,
Caledonia Co., VT to Charles W. Perkins containing 60 acres of land in
part of lot number 35 in the township of Kirby, VT.
I find a land sale deed dated 10.1.1813 recorded in the
Kirby, VT Land Records 1810-1846 Book. Charles W. Perkins is selling the
same piece of land for $393.60 that he purchased on 10.1.1813, 60 acres
on part of lot number 35 located in Kirby, Caledonia Co., VT to John
Atkinson of New York, New York. Charles W. Perkins signed this deed on
11.22.1813 from Concord, Essex Co., VT |

Capt. Cyrus Perkins b.?. His wife is
UNKNOWN. In 1814 he is listed in the Fairfax, Franklin Co., Deed
books as Cyrus Perkins of Fairfax, Franklin Co., VT when he purchased a
parcel of land located in Fairfax, VT. In 1822, he sold this same parcel
of land and was listed as Cyrus Perkins of Potton, Bedford Co., Lower
Providence of Canada. He is then listed on the 1825 Canadian Census at
Potton, Quebec Canada as "Captain Cyrus Perkins".

John Perkins b.ca.1766-1784. His 2nd
wife m. (OCT.2026 - KEEPING THIS INFORMATION PRIVATE FOR NOW);
N. (K.). They were listed on the 1810 Census at
Highgate, Franklin Co., VT. According to the Franklin Co., VT Land &
Property Records, In 1803 he rented land in Highgate, Franklin Co., VT.
In 1816 they removed to Huntsburgh, Franklin Co., VT and in 1817 the
name of the town changed to Franklin, Franklin Co., VT.

I find a land rental agreement dated 9.15.1804 recorded in
the Highgate, VT Town Records 1794-1895 Book. Silas Hathaway of Swanton,
Franklin Co., VT and Heman Allen of Colchester, Chittenden Co., VT and
the state of Vermont are renting 50 acres of land to John Perkins
of Highgate, Franklin Co., VT. A parcel of land located in Highgate,
Franklin Co., VT that he had been renting from them, on Lot #8 being the
west half of the said lot. To pay 12c per acre and 5 mills due and
payable on the first day of January 1805 being the whole $6.25 of rent
due and paid yearly at the Lower Folks in Swanton, VT.
I find 1806 & 1807 Taxes Paid by John Perkins at Highgate,
Franklin Co., VT in the Highgate, Franklin Co., VT Town Records
1805-1811 Books
I find a Warning Out of Town Notice
from the Constable of Huntsburgh, VT
dated 11.28.1816 recorded in the Franklin Co., VT Misc.
Records 1789-1811 Book. John Perkins who is now residing in
Huntsburgh (aka. Franklin), Franklin Co., VT is being summoned to be
asked to depart said town. *Note:
This was a normal practice in Vermont |
