ORSON PERKINS

Col. Orson Perkins b.1802 Hartland, Windsor Co., VT d.4.17.1882 Taftsville, VT. Son of (Elisha P. & Hannah (Taft) Perkins). His wife HANNAH (RUST). They were married in 1830 at Rochester, Windsor Co., VT. It was noted in his obituary that he was a descendant of Abraham Perkins of Hampton, N.H.

Their children were:

EZRA PERKINS

Ezra Perkins b.1798 Tunbridge, Orange Co., VT d.1881/1882 Sutton, Caledonia Co., VT. (*Probably* son of Seth & Mary "Molly" (Ring) Perkins). His 1st wife m.1823 at Danville, Caledonia Co., VT; MIRIAM (PAGE), his 2nd wife m. 1866; Mrs. ELIZABETH (MORSE) FROST. He made his first land purchase 8.5.1820 for land in Waterford, Caledonia Co., VT. He then sold this land in 1821. They were listed on the 1850 & 1860 Census at Albany, Orleans Co., VT with his 1st wife. In 1870 & 1880 he and his 2nd wife are listed at Sutton, Caledonia Co., VT

Hezekiah Perkins b. ca.1790-1795 ??? d. 1848 Burke, VT. His wife m.1818 @ Burke, Caledonia Co., VT; MARY (HUMPHREY) b.1795 Farmington, CT d.1860 St. Johnsbury, VT, daughter of Abel & Deborah (Riley) Humphrey. After their marriage they removed to Southwick, Hamden Co., MA. Prior to 1839, they returned to Burke, Caledonia Co., VT.

Their known child was:

Stephen R. Perkins b.ca.1796 NH d.1877 Castleton, VT. His 1st wife m.1832 @ Benson, Rutland Co., VT; CHLOE MARIA (CRAMPTON) his 2nd wife Mrs. IRENE (JOHNSON) BISHOP. They are listed on the 1840 Census at Castleton, Rutland Co., VT. In 1870 he was listed as a "Retired Hotel Keeper" at Castleton, Rutland Co., VT.
