ABRAHAM T. PERKINS
Abraham T. Perkins b.3.31.1802 NY d.6.6.1882 MI. Son of (Christopher & Hannah Bishop (Carpenter) Perkins). His wife HARRIET (HOPPER) b.1805 NY d. 10.20.1875 Valparaiso, IN while visiting her son Lewis Perkins. They were listed on the 1830 Census at Ira, Cayuga Co., NY Census.  In 1833 he sold the land he owned at Ira, Cayuga Co., NY and moved to Hannibal, Oswego Co., NY. In 1835 he sold the land at Hannibal, Oswego Co., NY. He removed with his brothers from NY to MI. They were listed on the 1840 Michigan Census in Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI.

Their known children were:

Elmeron Perkins b.1814 NY d.1881 MI. Son of (John Newman & Betsey (Tanner) Perkins).  His wife ELIZA B. (CHURCH) b.1810 d.1888 MI. They came from Warren Co., NY and were listed on the 1840 Census at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. In 1850-186 MI Census in Rome, Lenawee Co., MI. In 1870 this family removed to Grundy Co., IL.

Their known children were:

Christopher Perkins b.3.18.1795 NY d.2.21.1878 Gratiot Co., MI. Son of (Christopher & Rebecca (Palmer) Perkins). His 1st wife UNKNOWN. His 2nd ? wife Mrs. SARAH "SALLY" (OSBORN) CHASE b.1803 Canada d.1875 Gratiot Co., MI. Christopher Perkins and Mrs. Sally (Osborn) Chase were married Feb. 6, 1839 in Madison, Lenawee Co., MI. He came to Michigan around 1836 and first purchased land in Township\Range 003 North-002 West, Section 33, W1/2 NE 1/4 in Ingham Co., MI. On 8/10/1839 he purchased land in Township\Range 008 South-002 West, Section 11, NE 1/4 in Hillsdale Co., MI. He is listed on the 1840 Census at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI and on the 1850 Census at Hillsdale, Genesee Co.,  MI. In 1860 he is listed on the census at Ransom, Hillsdale Co., MI

Unknown children w/1st wife:

Their known children w/Sarah were:

1. Hyram O. Perkins b.1843 MI  d. Civil War - at the battle of Gaines Mills and was buried on the battle-ground.
2. Francis M. Perkins b.1845 MI m. Effie (Bradley) and removed to Pettisville, Fulton Co., Ohio for awhile but returned to Saginaw, MI

Hiram Perkins b.ca.1815. Son of (William & Susannah (Hubbard) Perkins). His wife CATHERINE (CHASE). He first purchased land on 9/15/1835 in Township\Range 006 South-002 East, Section 20, W1/2 NW 1/4 in Lenawee Co., MI. He is listed on the 1840 Census as "Hinman Perkins" in Rome, Lenawee Co., MI. In 1850 he is listed as Hiram Perkins at Rollin, Lenawee Co., MI.

Their known children were:

I find a Deed in the Lenawee Co., MI Deed book dated 4.19.1835 where Hiram & Catherine Perkins are selling land to Mrs. Jane Perkins, wife of William Perkins.

JOHN T. PERKINS
John Tanner Perkins b.7.2.1810 Greenwich, Washington Co., NY d.1861 Rollin, Lenawee Co., MI. Son of (John Newman & Betsey (Tanner) Perkins). His wife MARY M. (JONES). He first purchased land on 10/1/1835 in the East half of the South West Quarter of Section #6 in Township #7, South of Range #2 East in the district of lands subject to sale at Monroe Michigan Territory containing 80 acres. This was filed in a Land Deed Certificate #3644 and recorded in the Lenawee Co., MI Deeds Book.
They were listed on the 1840 Michigan Census at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. After John T. Perkins died, his wife m. 2nd. John Forbes.

Their known children were:

James R. Perkins b.1807 NY d.8.8.1863 KY (Civil War). Son of (Gilbert & Elizabeth (Synder) Perkins). His wife m.11.29.1830 at Conquest, Cayuga Co., NY in the home of William Synder/Snider;  ELEANOR (VanSISE). They were listed on the 1850 Census at Mentz, Cayuga Co., New York Census and in 1860 Census at Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI.

Their known children were:

They were listed on the 1820 Census at Cato, Cayuga Co., NY and in 1830 at Ira, Cayuga Co., NY. He first purchased land on 9.15.1831 Township\Range 007 South-033 East in Section 6, NW1/2 in Lenawee Co., MI. In 1835 he resided at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. They were listed on the 1840 at Madison, Lenawee Co., MI.

Stephen Perkins b.6-26-1797 Saratoga Co., NY d. 6.29.1875 Hudson, MI. Son of  (Christopher & Hannah Bishop (Carpenter) Perkins). His wife FREELOVE (TERPENNING/TERPNEY). m. 12-23-1819. They were listed on the 1820 Census at Cato, Cayuga Co., NY and in 1830 at Ira, Cayuga Co., NY. He first purchased land in Township\Range 007 South-003 East, Section 7, NW 1/4 next to Moses Perkins (listed above). They were listed on the 1840 Census at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI. Twin of Moses P. Perkins (above).

Their known children were:

SAMUEL C. PERKINS
Samuel C. Perkins b. ? d.1847/1848 Hillsdale Co., MI. He was known to have resided at Rowland, Hillsdale Co., MI in 1847/1848. His house was auctioned off on Jan. 17th, 1848. The Administrator of his estate was listed as Stephen Perkins , who I believe to be the Stephen Perkins residing at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI (Above). This would not be Stephen Perkins son Samuel C. Perkins b.1823, more than likely a brother or a cousin.

ADMINISTRATION SALE

By an order of the Judge of Probate of the county of Lenawee, I shall offer for sale at public auction the east half of the south east quarter of section No. one in township No. eight south range No. two west, in the township of Rowland, in the county of Hillsdale, and State of Michigan, at the house of Samuel C. Perkins, in the said township of Rowland, and County of Hillsdale, on the fifth day of March next, at one o'clock in the afternoon, and one fourth of the purchase money will be required down, and the remainder in two annual payments with annual interest.

William Perkins b.1780 Naples, VT or NY. His 1st wife ? *SEMANTHA (UNKNOWN), his 1st or 2nd wife m. in VT; SUSANNAH (HUBBARD) b.1790 VT d.1850 MI. I find several land deeds for William "Perkins\Purkins" and his wife Semantha dated in 1805 at Vernon, Oneida Co., NY. By 1808 I find several more deeds for William & Susannah Perkins at Vernon, Oneida Co., NY. *NOTE: It is possible that the clerk who wrote the deed mistakenly called Susannah Perkins by the name of Semantha Perkins*.   In 1818 they removed to Galen, Seneca Co. (In 1823 became Galen, Wayne Co)., NY and lived there until 1838. He is listed on the 1820 Census at Galen, Seneca Co., NY as "William Perkins".  He is listed on the 1830 Census at Galen, Wayne Co., NY Census as "William Purkins".  In 1840 he was listed at Census at Rome, Lenawee Co., MI. In 1850 he was listed as age 70.

They were known to have had 11 children.

On 3.18.1809 -  The Sheriff of Oneida Co., NY  Sold off Land (Part of Lot 243) belonging to William Perkins to David & Martha Pixley.

I find a land sale dated 12.22.1809 recorded in the Oneida Deeds 1809-1813 Book  William & Susannah Perkins of Vernon, Oneida Co., NY are selling land to Anderson Gale/Cale/ of the same place (Lot 242 on the "Late Oneida Reservation") in Vernon, Oneida Co., NY

ONTARIO COUNTY - NEW YORK

They Purchased land on 4.1.1814 at Gorham, Ontario Co., NY (Lot 31, 2nd Range, Township #9) from Benjamin Boots
They Sold land on 3.16.1816 at Gorham, Ontario Co., NY (Lot 31, 2nd Range, Township #9)  to William Blodget. The sale of the land was not recorded until 10/7/1833.

Oct. 25th, 1818. Article in the Geneva Gazette Newspaper. "William Perkins of Gorham, defaults on mortgage".

 *NOTE* In 1823 - Wayne Co., NY was formed from Parts of Seneca & Ontario Counties.

William J. Perkins Jr. b.18091810 NY d.1871 Clayton, Lenawee Co., MI.  He came from Galen, Wayne Co., NY to MI in 1838. Son of (William & Susannah (Hubbard) Perkins). His wife JANE (Unknown) b.1813 NY m. 2nd ELIZABETH (Unknown) b.1833 MI. He is listed on the 1840 Michigan Census at Dover, Lenawee Co., MI near Christopher Perkins & Hiram Perkins & Elmeron Perkins and on the 1850,1860 Census at Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI. In 1870 at Hudson, Lenawee Co., MI in the Clayton Hotel Exchange at Hudson, Lenawee Co., MI with his brother & wife John L. Perkins and also at Adrian, Lenawee Co., MI. His profession was listed as a Constable.
Their known child was:

1. Jane S. Perkins (Adopted) b.1846 MI (ADOPTED)

In 1860 his father William Perkins, age 84 (b.1776 NY) was living in his household

To his niece Semantha Bessy, daughter of his brother Hiram Perkins, for her son Artie, the sum of $500.00
To his niece Deliette Perkins & Mary Lossa, daughters of his brother Horace Perkins and Jane S. Perkins his adopted daughter, the balance of
his real and personal estate to be equally divided amongst them.
