They came to New York in 1792 from Vassalborough
(Vassalboro), Lincoln\Kennebec Co., ME
to Madison twp, Herkimer Co., NY . Where they settled became the town of
Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY and later as Hamilton, Madison Co., NY.
They are listed on the 1800 Census at Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY. By 1806, they removed to Champion, Jefferson Co., NY.
I do not find them listed on the 1810 Census at Champion, Jefferson Co., NY. They are listed on the
1820 Census at Champion, Jefferson Co., NY

I find a land purchase deed dated 4.13.1799 recorded in the Chenango Co., NY
Deeds 1798-1801 Book between Benjamin & Mary Walker of of the City of New
York is selling land to Solomon Perkins of Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY,
Solomon Perkins is purchasing land located in Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY on
lots #37 & #38 in the 3rd township of twenty townships in
Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY.
I find a land sale deed dated 5.19.1802 recorded in the Chenango Co., NY
Deeds 1803 Book between Solomon & Sally Perkins of Hamilton, Chenango Co.,
NY selling land to Elijah Bond of the same place, land located on lot #37 &
#38 in the 3rd township in Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY which was north east of land
owned by
Solomon Perkins Jr. near the pond.

Deeds 1803 Book between Solomon & Sally Perkins of Hamilton, Chenango Co.,
NY to *Samuel Sinclear of the same place, for & in consideration of the sum of
fifteen dollars to them in hand, paid by the party of the second part the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and also in consideration of the
marriage of the said party of the second part with the daughter of the said
parties of the first part and the relation of blood and the natural love and
affections of the said parties of the first part with and towards the said
daughter & her children in & by said marriage have granted, bargained sold
remised released aliened & confirmed & by the presents do grant bargain sell
remise release alien & confirm unto the said party of the second part in his
actual possession now being and to his heirs & assigns forever, all that
certain parcel of land being part of lot number #37 in the 3rd township in
Hamilton, Oneida Co., NY. Witnessed by Nathaniel King & a Benjamin
Perkins.

to James Pratt located in township #2 in the town of Hamilton, Chenango

purchase on the same date of 7.25.1804 recorded in the
Chenango Co., NY Mortgages 1798-1810 Book between Ezra Woodworth and
Samuel Sinclear purchasing land on part of lot #37 in the 3rd
township over a 3 year payment installment agreement.}
{*Note* I find a land sale deed dated 5.16.1808 recorded in
the Madison Co., NY Deeds 1806-1812 Book between Samuel & Fanny
Sinclair of Madison, Madison Co., NY selling land to George Vaugn
located in the 3rd township of the twenty townships on lot #11 of the
Madison town plat.} . He is listed on the 1810 Census at Madison,
Madison Co., NY as S. St. Clair.
*Jamestown, Chautauqua, NY Cemetery Records: Mrs. Fanny Sinclear
d.1.12.1853 age 75, relict of the late Maj. Samuel Sinclear, soldier of
the Rev. War. She b. New London, CT on 4.7.1777 and was twice married.
First to Obed Edson, they emigrated to Madison Co., NY, she was the
mother of Hon. Obed Edson & Hon. J.M. Edson. After the decease of her
first husband, she married Maj. Samuel Sinclear and they and family
removed to Chautauqua Co., in Oct. 1810. Settled at the village bering
his name. |

dated 2.11.1806 recorded in the Madison Co., NY Deeds 1869-1870 Book
between Solomon & Sally Perkins of Champion, Jefferson Co., NY,
selling land to Stephen Woodhull of the town of Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY on
part of lot #37 of the 3rd township in Hamilton, Chenango Co., NY
I find a land sale deed dated 10.15.1811 recorded in 1812 in the Jefferson Co., NY
Deeds 1811-1815 Book between Solomon & Sally Perkins of Champion, Jefferson
Co, NY, selling land to
Joseph H. Perkins of Augusta,
Kennebunk, MA
< which was corrected later in the deed to say (Jefferson Co., NY instead
of Massachusetts) on Lots #42 & #43
in Champion, Jefferson Co., NY
I find a land sale deed dated 4.26.1831
recorded in the Jefferson Co., NY Deeds 1831-1832 Book between Solomon
Perkins of the town of Champion, Jefferson Co., NY & Margaret Perkins, widow
of Solomon Perkins, late of said town deceased & Lovina Perkins of the first
part and Joseph Herrick late from Vermont & now residing in said time of
Champion of the second part. (Several lots listed - except 30 acres which
was conveyed by Solomon Perkins to Joseph H. Perkins recorded in the
clerks office of Jefferson County dated 12.12.1812 in Book E of Deeds.
Witnessed by Solomon Perkins & Lovina his wife and
Margaret Perkins, the
widow of Solomon Perkins (deceased).
Albany Argus Newspaper Notice: 1831:
The People of the state of New York, to Margaret Perkins and Hosea
Perkins, and the next of kin of Solomon Perkins, late of the town
of Champion in the county of Jefferson, deceased. greetings: You and each of
you are hereby cited and required personally to be and appear before our
surrogate of our county of Jefferson on Monday the forth day of April next,
at eleven o'clock in the forenoon of that day, at the house of Butler Ranney
in the village of Watertown, to attend to the probate of the last will and
testament of the said Solomon Perkins, deceased, which will then and there
be ordered for that purpose. Witness Benjamin Wright esquire, surrogate of
our said county of Jefferson, this seventh day of February in the year one
thousand eight hundred and thirty-one.

Ontario Co., NY. His wife MEHITABLE
(MERRIAM ?). In 1799 he and his wife joined the Presbyterian Church at
Victor, Ontario Co., NY. They were listed on the 1800-1810 Census at
Bloomfield, Ontario Co., NY. He was listed on the 1800 census between the
age of 26-44. On the 1810 Census he was of the age of 45 & Over.

Cemetery? Town of Victor. [See:

There is an Ontario County probate record for Elisha Perkins d.1815.
Possible Relationship with: Joseph Perkins
(below). If a relationship is found, he is probably the Elisha Perkins
listed on the 1790 Census at Stockbridge, Berkshire Co., MA Census.
