b.1764 CT d. 10.31.1847. He came from Windham, CT. He was listed on the 1800-1820 New York Census at Rome, Oneida Co.
In 1794 his 1st wife; ABIGAIL B. (UNKNOWN).
In 1824 his
2nd.wife; LYDIA (UNKNOWN). They are
listed on the 1825 state Census at Martinsburg, Lewis Co., NY. He is not
listed on the actual 1830 Census. He was present
at the Commemoration Celebration - The National Semi-Centennial Celebration
on July 4th, 1826 at Lowville, Lewis Co., NY. He purchased and sold several
parcels of land in Martinsburg, Lewis Co., NY between 1823-1836. The last
land record is dated 1.18.1841. He is buried in the Whiffen
Cemetery on the Higgins farm at
Annsville, Oneida Co., NY. **More research is
needed**

"In Annsville, on October 31st, 1847, Capt.
Silas Perkins, a Patriot of the Revolution, aged 82
years"

I find a land purchase deed dated 6.20.1794 recorded in the
Oneida Co., NY Deeds 1808-1811 Book showing Silas Perkins of Steuben,
Herkimer Co., NY is purchasing land in Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY from Daniel
& Betsey Knight of Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY, it being land located on Lot
#45 of the "Fonda's Patent" at Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY.
*Note* The township of Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY became a township in
Oneida Co., NY
I find a land sale deed dated 1.18.1796 recorded in the Oneida
Co., NY Deeds 1846 Book where Silas Perkins & Abigail B. Perkins of Steuben,
Herkimer Co., NY, selling land to Asa Bushwell in Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY.
It being the land located on Lot #45 in the "Fonda's Patent" at
Steuben, Herkimer Co., NY.
*Note* The township of Steuben, Herkimer
Co., NY became a township in Oneida Co., NY I find a
land sale deed dated 2.9.1824 recorded in the Oneida Co., NY Deeds 1826-1827
Book where Silas & Lydia Perkins are selling to a Harrison Purdy for $1,000, land located in
Rome, Oneida Co., NY.
It being the land located on Lot #45 in the
"Fonda's Patent" at Rome, Oneida Co., NY.
I find a land sale deed dated 12.22.1836 recorded in the Lewis Co., NY Deeds
1836-1838 Book where Silas & Lydia Perkins are selling to Clara Burchard,
land located in Martinsburg, Lewis Co., NY.

I find a land sale by Benajah Merrell the late Sheriff of
Oneida Co., NY dated 8.18.1810 recorded in the Oneida Co., NY Deeds
1810-1813 Book. The sheriff, by a writ of fieri facias issued by the supreme
court of New York against the goods and chattel lands and tenements of
William Perkins in favor of William Ross. The sheriff sold at public
auction, all the right, title and interest of in and to a certain piece of
parcel of land lying and being in the town of Floyd, Oneida Co., NY known as
lot number 77 in fords patent and containing four acres to Russell Clark as
the highest bidder of $45.00 |
